Cambodia Tourist Guides — Activities

Battambang Buddha

In Cambodia, activities thrive limitedly but albeit it sans the buzzing monotony that we find elsewhere. Now with tourism given special attention and financial push, it is progressing at a rapid pace. Sightseeing is one of the main activities in Cambodia. It provides you with a charming sight. The lush greenery with occasional silvery white streams and the ribbon like roads provide a feast to your eyes. Far away the blue delectable hills and a few cottages atop the crest of the hill beckons you as if from beyond the sunshine. Coupled with this exquisite sights you can also see the various exotic birds plummeting their colourful wings and the wild animals like deer, pigs and monkeys exhibiting their antic wildness, within a few yards. An eco-friendly tour of the whole place is promised to all tourists. A trip to Bokar National Park provides you the view of the footprints of tigers and other wild animals, on the tracks of the dense forest. A tour of the local countryside, during the daytime, enables you to speak to the local Cambodians, have lunch with them and give an insight to their lifestyle.

Apart from sightseeing, other activities include hiking, trekking, elephant riding with skilled guides in Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri and the luxurious boat trips. The boat moves in symphonic harmony along the smooth shimmering waters of the Tonle Sap Lake. You can also watch the pretty River Dolphins playing at Karatie along Mekong River and hear only the gentle paddling of the boat and your own breath. An exotic serenity pervades the whole atmosphere. Sihanoukville (also called Kompong Som) is one of the finest expansive beaches of Cambodia. Here you can go snorkelling, diving and a quiet walk amidst peaceful nature.

Shopping helps you to witness a dazzling world of richness. You can shop to your heart's content. The most popular and special items are jewellery (silver specially), antique articles, beautiful paintings, replica carvings and ornate Kramas (cotton scarves). Travel souvenirs are found in abundance at major tourist places like Phnom Penh.

One of the unusual attractions includes a ride through the beautiful countryside of Angkor Wat on a bicycle and discovering the subtle secrets of the lonely countryside. The country tourism is rapidly progressing everyday and organizing new tours, which promises to flourish exceedingly in near future, providing a wonderful holiday to all tourists visiting Cambodia.
