June 3rd, 1978 marks the grand opening of the Westin Chosun Beach Hotel. For the past 22 years, the Chosun hotel has played a vital role in the tourism of Pusan. For the Pusan area, the Westin Chosun Beach was the first deluxe hotel. It was also the first joint-partnership between an international hotel chain and a domestic group, a contract that was conceived in November 1979.
