Thailand Tourist Guides — Activities

Thai monks

Jungle trekking is the starting point of the activities of Thailand.

The main attraction is where the cornered hill tribe villagers meet and converse with the trekkers about their lifestyles originating from Chian Mai and Chiang Rai regions. Trekking programs normally include four to ten days of trekking through rainforests; ancient pine and deciduous trees ablaze with color in the autumn. Hills around Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai host seven itinerant hill-tribal people like the Mao, Lahu, Yao, Akha Lawa and Karen, each distinct in their costumes dialect and customs. A typical trekking tour engages a group of six to ten trekkers, a guide and a cook. There are more than 100 registered agencies as members of the Professional Guide Association of Chiang Mai and the Jungle Tour Club of northern Thailand who relentlessly organize these tours.

It.s delightful going round the roads of Thailand and discovering the serene paths. The bike rides expose you to the natural heritage of Thailand hitherto unknown to you. The lush green villages dotted with pristine streams, the series of sharp of plunges and steep rising provides an exciting challenging ecstasy to all riders. The roads Doi Inthanon National Park to Mae Chaem Valley and Op Luang Gorge are for experienced bikers whereas the less serious casual bikers can enjoy the Bang Pa City Island, Pai district and Mae Hongson. The historical grandeur of Ayutthaya, the historical city island and the other ruins boasts of cultural heritage, which can be included in your next biking tour.

The elephant riding and safaris are also equally lovely. Nestled in the cozy back of the huge elephant and winding though the dark rainforests and monsoon forests areas provide you with a wonderful experience. Some elephant camps are:

A frequented place is Krabi, an esplanade of land on the Indian Ocean. This coastal province provides a spectacular view of its crescent beaches and magnificently marked by beautiful tiny sun kissed islands.
