Thailand Tourist Guides — Environment

Wat Arun Bangkok

Thailand shares borders with Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Laos. It is sprinkled with many rivers and canals but is mainly watered by Chao Phraya River. Thailand comprises two variations of tropical forests, the monsoon forests and the rainforests. Much of the area is also covered with natural forest like freshwater swamp forests and forested crags. The forests, typically evergreen are darkly canopied with deciduous trees. Thailand.s flora includes a series of fruit trees, bamboo and tropical hardwoods. Orchid-the floral symbol of Thailand displays a beauty in itself.

Thailand is unique in wildlife. You can watch the Elephants, Leopards, Tigers, Banteng (wild cattle), Asiatic goat-antelope, Barking Deer, Malayan Sun Bears, Gaur (Indian Bison), Gibons, Taper, Jungle Cat, Dusky Langur sauntering the intimates of the forests or refreshing themselves by little silvery streams on the deciduous wooded forests. The extreme depths of the forests, unseen by human eyes, plays host to the like of Cobras, Malayan Viper, Branded Krait, Reticulated Python (nations largest green snake), Tukkae (a large Gecko) and Green Viper and Russels Pit viper all of which can reach to dangerous heights.

The best time to visit Thailand is November-February, for the days are mild and night remains cool. March-June and May-October is especially hot and humid.
